The club re-opened on Thursday 14th April 2005. It is operating on a once-a-month basis for the present.

Music is provided by resident band The Roly Veitch Quartet who play mostly standards from the classic mainstream repertoire of jazz plus a few originals. Style - mainstream - swing to modern. Also the occasional vocal in a Chet Baker'ish style. Some weeks we feature a guest musician from the cream of local players through to visitors from further afield. We are arranging for a top UK player to be our guest about once every three months.

Club members and visitors may like to know that there is now available a CD of the Billy Harper/Roly Veitch Quartet (Jazz Express) which was recorded live at Blaydon Jazz Club in November 2004. The CD is called "Stairway To The Stars" and features some of the most requested numbers over the past few years, such as "Taps Miller", "Mr Gentle & Mr Cool", "Lotus Blossom" and many more.
